1944 FarmAll Model "A"

This is the tractor that started it all.  This was my grandfather's tractor that he bought in the mid 1960's and used up until the mid 1990's.  I used it for a few years as it was, then it was decided to freshen up the engine.  With the help from Andy T in 2003, the engine was given a new set of rings, valves, bearings, and gaskets.  Now it is used primarily as a cultivating tractor, and to pull an occasional trailer.  In 2009 the engine developed a massive oil leak and is scheduled for a total engine disassembly.  In the fall of 2010, the engine was totally disassembled, inspected, and all gaskets were replaced.  This machine is now running all ready to go back to work. - Note - Grandpa passed away in June of 2010, before the repairs were made.  This machine will be shown in his memory at local shows and pulls.

1949 FarmAll Model "Super A"

This is the second tractor I obtained, purchased from my uncle in 2003.  He bought it from a neighbor with the intention of restoring it, but it ended up being more than he wanted to do.  It suffered from a broken steering box and a stuck engine (as is how he got it) and later I found it had a stuck clutch and a cracked block.  With the help from Andy T, I got this one all apart, and we installed 3 1/4" aluminum step head pistons in the engine, as well as a new clutch.  A different steering box was obtained and installed.  In the summer of 2006, I changed the head and manifold to one from a FarmAll 240, which has a smaller combustion chamber and a "cold" manifold.  2007 brought upon a whole block replacement (the cracks in the original one finally gave way) from a FarmAll Super C and the change of the carburetor to an adjustable main jet type.  Also the rear tires were changed from stock 9.5x24's to 11.2x24's.  In it's first competition pull, the Super A took 1st place in 3000lb class and 2nd in 3500lb class, beating out such tractors as John Deere B's and FarmAll Super C's.  Used as one of the work tractors, this tractor sees a lot of drawbar use and to plow the driveway in the winter.  Recent hydraulic problems have plagued this tractor, but after flushing out the system, repairing the filter, and two pumps later they are operational again.  The fall of 2011 saw a total rebuild of the snowplow frame.
