1977 John Deere Model 214

I picked up this machine originally as for parts for my parent's 1984 John Deere 214 in the winter of 2009-2010.  Supposidly, it had a rebuilt engine in it and the previous owner lost interest and never finished the project.  After an engine fire the entire motor was tore down in the winter of 2010-2011, was overbored and rebuit. The timing was off and a lot of bolts were not tight.  The rest  of the chasis was cleaned and all fluids were changed.  The maual lift was broke and  a replacement was ordered and installed.  A front grill was located and installed.  The 47" mowing deck was in pretty rough shape.  The deck was patched back together and is back in use (untill a replacement pan is found), the spindles and blades were in good shape.  The machine ran excellent, and after a PTO clutch adjustement, did a fine job mowing the lawn in the summer of 2011.  In the Winter of 2011-2012, a Model 37A snowblower was purchased.  The front lift package was located and installed as well as the rear lift package (in anticipation of a Model 31 Tiller).
